Someone asked me the other day what my food staples are every week…

I shop at two stores(it use to be 3- I’ve really cut down Winking smile) – Whole Foods  and Market Basket.

At Whole Foods I buy:

  • WF brand peanut butter(creamy)
  • 2x  bags of frozen organic peas & carrots
  • bag of frozen spinach
  • Organic Valley Lactose free 1% milk
  • Organic skim milk(Dave)
  • Extra pulp OJ(Dave)
  • 2 dozen eggs (WF brand are Pete & Gerry)
  • 1 lbs. of split breast chicken or boneless skinless breasts or a WHOLE roaster( 4-6 lbs.)
  • organic low sodium chicken broth
  • polenta
  • 2x cans of Muir Glen or San Marzano whole, peeled tomatoes
  • can of no salt added black beans
  • can of no salt added cannellini beans

At Market Basket I buy:

  • Cabot Extra Sharp & 50% light cheddar
  • 5x Chobani yogurts
  • 1 lbs. of local fish(yep our local MB carries some local fish!)
  • 1 lbs. Plainville ground turkey(94%) [Note: they sell Plainville at Whole Foods BUT at MB it’s only $2.99)
  • 2x liters of Poland Spring seltzer(lime)
  • Snyder’s pretzels(Dave)
  • 2 lbs. bag of organic yellow onions
  • 2 lbs. of sweet potatoes
  • butternut squash
  • al fresco chicken sausage
  • 1 bunch of kale
  • 6x gala apples
  • 10 very green and organic bananas(we like them just barely ripe)
  • 1 bunch of cilantro
  • 1 bag of quinoa
  • 1 bunch of parsley
  • 1 bag of red peppers
  • 2 bags of organic carrots
  • Vermont Bread Company whole wheat bread(Dave)
  • 2x lemons
  • 1 container of Olivia’s Organics baby spinach


Other than that- I play with what I have in the fridge or cupboard! Smile
