Oh yes- a baby is coming to the ‘S’ family and we are all very excited about it!
I was asked to make a fruit salad for Hilde’s Shower- and since it’s not truly ‘fruit’ season I did the best I could with what was fresh and from USA: cantaloupe, honeydew, strawberries and blackberries! It turned out pretty well!
The shower spread was beautiful- with wonderful salads, quiches and treats!
The mother and grandmother to be were glowing all day
Our grandmother had even flown in- yeah, Gran!
While we were making a cranes for a mobile – gazpacho was passed.
It was perfect on this warm day!
We all decided to sit outside for lunch.
Even Daisy was soaking up the sun…
Later, Hilde opened up her gifts!
I decided to get a couple things for the mummy to be – a sling, cloth diaper and wipes, and a receiving blanket.
So many of Hilde’s friends/family made her homemade gifts from a sweater with an eggplant, to a tomato hat ,receiving blankets hand stitched with the insignia from our summer place, hand dyed and decorated onesies, to a baby blanket knitted by the great-grandmother to be! The women at this party were so multi-talented!
After Hilde opened her gifts -my friend Carrie and I decided to have a “July Brides” photo! We are getting married one week apart!
To celebrate our upcoming nuptials- Carrie had made me a mix cd. It has a great collection of wedding favorites including- Don’t Stop Believin’ – the one song I thought was most important for our band know how to play!
As shower gifts my cousin had made cds -each of the songs included the word baby- such a great idea!
What a wonderful afternoon with some amazing ladies!
Note: Sarah and I did make it to ‘George’ this morning before heading down to the shower. I think I’m going to be sore tomorrow
