The No List

primary care cartoonFor about a couple months now I have been getting ‘sick’ after eating. It hasn’t been consistent so I haven’t been able to pinpoint it BUT after having the severe reaction in Canada with peanuts I knew I had to nip this in the butt before I start my internship at BIDMC.

So, this morning I went to my primary care physician and we calculated a plan for my intestinal discomfort.

NO GLUTEN                              NO LACTOSE                                                    NO NUTS or PEANUTS

I am going to meet with an allergist for nuts and peanuts, as well as have a lactose intolerance test (including bacteria overgrowth test) in the next two weeks.

For now, I need to keep my diet as clean of these foods as possible- NO CHEATING!

For now my recipes are not going to include any of these foods- if you have any you would like to share I would love to try them out!

I can relate – a little! I’ve been on a no fiber diet for the past few days. Funnily enough, it’s made me feel just awful.
Gluten-free/dairy free recipes are easy: pizza, baked pasta and veggies – just use soy cheese. Good luck!

I find http://www.peasandthankyou.com to be good for vegan food (which means no lactose), you may want to go through her recipes because I think she labels gluten free too. She has some really awesome recipes. I just made her yukon gold bean burgers last week which I believe should be gluten free and are definitely free of lactose and peanuts- that would be a good one to try first :)
