Oh my goodness- this was tasty!
Dave and the boys went ‘clamming’ one morning and brought home just enough to make corn and clam chowder.
At low-tide you can walk right out on their beach(with a permit) and go at it!
Look at those beautiful ribbons from the water on the sand!
Before Elise and I made chowder- we can to clean up and take the compost out!
AND check on the boys in the trees!
The recipe we used- since we both don’t make chowders regularly- was for farmer’s market chowder from Vegetarian Times(September 2011).
We substituted the clams for greens beans & sweet potatoes and instead put in yukon gold potatoes, and fresh summer squash. The clam flavor really came from the shells being steamed right in the broth!
With a splash of half and half at the end – it was the perfect treat to accompany a perfect cape day!
