While in Canada – I came across sweet potato hummus in one of the grocery stores. It was so delicious I decided to re-create it at home for my first Recipe Redux.
About the Recipe Redux:
“As the first and only recipe challenge founded by registered dietitians, The Recipe ReDux is focused on taking delicious dishes, keeping them delicious, but making them better for you. Dietitians Regan Jones, Serena Ball and Deanna Segrave-Daly founded the group on the belief that healthier eating should always taste delicious. As the Latin term “redux” means to revisit or reinvent, we are reinventing the idea of healthy eating with a taste-first approach. We aim to inspire the food lover in every healthy eater and inspire the healthy eater in every food lover.”
How does it work?
“…On the first day of each month, the aforementioned RDs set the monthly theme (i.e. “whole grains highlighted” or “beyond the peanut butter sandwich” etc.) and share it with members. On the 21st of the same month, all group members post their Recipe ReDux on their blogs and include links to other members’ blogs…!”
September’s Redux: Dress for Success(condiments, spreads & salad dressings).

This looks so easy and tasty. I’m anxious to try it. I love hummus and I love sweet potatoes. I’ve never thought about putting them together.
it’s really delicious!
First off, welcome to Recipe Redux! We’re thrilled to have you on board. And this is just so simple – one of those, why have I not made this before? I certainly will now fall is here – can’t wait to taste it.
I love making my hummus but have never thought of this before with sweet potatoes or pumpkin as someone else suggested. It is perfect for fall! Can’t wait to try it. Thanks!
Hmmm, sweet potatoes are my very favorite but I can’t picture them in hummus. I’m sure I’d like it. The weirdest hummus I’ve ever made was peanut butter and it was amazing.
Very cool recipe! I love sweet potatoes but this is something fun and new to try with them!
Great recipe! I’ve had a lot of different hummus before, but never sweet potato. Definitely want to try this! I made some “regular” hummus this summer and served it with heated up Udis Gluten-free pizza crust cut into wedges. Very yummy! So glad you joined the Recipe ReDux
Meg… SO glad you joined the ReDux!!
And love your first dish! Hummus is one of my all time faves, but would you believe I’ve never tried a sweet potato version. Definitely gonna try soon. I always have sweet potatoes on hand… they are my spud of choice
Thanks Regan!
